NWF Presents Louisiana Wetlands Project at 74th North American Wildlife Conference

Arlington, VA – The National Wildlife Federation (NWF) hosted a breakfast before a crowd of 150 on the new Louisiana Wetlands project at the North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference on March 19, 2009. The audience consisted of high level staff from the Department of the Interior, state (and military) fish and game agencies, Ducks Unlimited, the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership (TRCP) and a variety of additional NGOs.

River Diversions: It’s Going to Happen

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers held a summit in New Orleans in early March with scientific experts and stakeholders to talk about using river diversions to build land in Louisiana. The director Louisiana Governor’s Office of Coastal Affairs boldly stated at the start of the summit, “We are going to do diversions in Louisiana. It’s going to happen.”
